FAQs

Do the Axelgaard electrodes contain latex?
No, all Axelgaard electrodes and their packaging are latex free.
Are your electrodes disposable?
Yes, when the electrodes show signs of wear and tear or are no longer comfortable to wear, they should be replaced with a new set.
How are the electrodes removed from the skin?
It is important to peel the electrode from the edge and not put any strain on the lead wire.
How many times can the electrodes be used?
The usable lifetime is very much dependent on the proper application, storage and care by the user. The durability is primarily dependent on the adhesiveness of the gel and this is aided by keeping the gel clean, hydrated and free of debris.
How should electrodes be stored once used?
After usage, the electrode must be returned to the "ON" side of the Mylar liner and placed in the original re-sealable package. If contaminated, a small amount of debris can be removed by rubbing a drop of water on the affected area before placing back into storage.
Is it necessary to clean the skin before application?
Yes, this is strongly advised as it can reduce the chance of contaminating the electrode and keep electrode resistance low. A simple wash with soap and water can remove lotions, creams, make-up and dead skin.
Can electrodes be used for more than one subject?
This is not recommended for hygiene reasons. By sharing electrodes, subjects are subjected to cross-contamination.
