The CATH SECURE Dual Tab is a comfortable and practical solution to keeping medical tubing, including catheters, in place for up to one week.
The system uses a simple system to secure tubing by using a hook-and-loop principle that fixes the tubing to the patient. This proven system helps reduce complications such as infections and patient discomfort.
Because the CATH-SECURE® Dual Tab is made of robust materials adjustments can be made repeatedly and no re-tapping is necessary.
The pads use an alcohol soluble adhesive (and is latex free), which reduces the risk of an allergic reaction and greatly reduces trauma to the patient’s skin.
This lightweight product not only improves the wearers’ comfort but also allows greater mobility with confidence.
A best-practice statement by the NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (2004) advises that catheters and attached drainage systems are properly secured in a comfortable position for the individual. This will help prevent movement of the catheter and urethral traction, which leads to improved comfort plus good bladder drainage.
