Getting Connected – Electrode Connection Options 30th March 201729th July 2020 Digitimer Getting Connected – Electrode Connection Options Digitimer electrical stimulators, designed for use on human subjects, are fitted with medical grade, touch-proof, 4mm output sockets. When purchasing a Digitimer stimulator, it is important to consider what type of electrodes you are going to use and how they will connect to the stimulator output sockets. Unfortunately, there is no universal electrode connector in the market, so Digitimer offers a variety of adaptors and output extension cables which are appropriate for the most popular types of medical connector. D185-OC 4mm Output Plugs These 4mm, shrouded D185-OC1 plugs can either be used to re-wire an existing electrode with plugs compatible with our stimulators, or to construct adaptor leads. Supplied in pairs (one red, one black). D185-OL1 Output Lead The D185-OL1 cable (5m long) is supplied with bare wires at the distal end and can be used to construct adaptor leads for electrode connection. The D185-OL1 is ideally suited to users whose electrodes are not compatible with the D185-HB4 detailed below. D185-HB4 Electrode Connection Headbox Our most popular stimulator accessory, the D185-HB4 has a moulded pair of 1.5mm touch proof male sockets (DIN 42802) at the distal end which can be used for electrodes fitted with this type of connector. The default length of the D185-HB4 is 4.5m, but it can also be supplied in 2m, 6m and 12m long versions. If you intend to use electrodes fitted with 2mm “pig-tail” leads, such as those manufactured by Axelgaard, we offer some adaptor leads compatible with the D185-HB4. These DS7A-M338 leads, available in 30cm or 90cm long versions convert the 1.5mm touchproof connector to a 2mm pin which can be fitted into the 2mm pig-tail socket. These leads are also compatible with the Motor Point Pen Electrode (G.MPPE) we offer.
