12th Goettingen Meeting – Cakes & Neuroscience
The biennial Goettingen Meeting of the German Neuroscience Society took place between March 22nd and 25th 2017. Digitimer supported this highlight of the German neuroscience calendar by exhibiting from Wednesday to Friday, giving us an opportunity to meet with existing and potential customers. Hosted by the Georg August University Goettingen, this well supported conference brought together scientists from Germany and beyond, working in diverse fields including clinical neurosciences, molecular neurobiology and behavioural neurosciences.
As well as a packed symposium programme, there were approximately 750 poster submissions from young neuroscientists, eager to present their latest research findings. The healthy appetite for scientific debate was supplemented by a rather less healthy and apparently endless supply of savoury snacks, cakes and biscuits, ensuring that delegates and exhibitors never felt hungry. As usual, the assistance of the local organising committee and very willing staff/student helpers was greatly appreciated by all the exhibitors.
On the Digitimer stand, we displayed our modular NeuroLog System, our research stimulators, including the DS2A Constant Voltage and DS3 Constant Current units and a prototype of our new DS8R Isolated Biphasic Constant Current Stimulator. Also on display were a variety of brain slice chambers and keepers from Scientific Systems Design, micro-manipulators from Narishige and our new D188 Remote Electrode Selector, which allows the output from a single stimulator to be directed, under digital control, to multiple sites or preparations.
The Goettingen meeting returns in two years time, however, Germany will be hosting another major neuroscience event in 2018, as Berlin will provide the venue for the 2018 FENS meeting.
Don’t forget that on April 10th 2017, Digitimer will be exhibiting at the British Neuroscience Association Festival of Neuroscience in Birmingham. This meeting is being held at the Birmingham ICC and Digitimer staff will be on stand 38, ready to assist with your enquiries.
We look forward to seeing you in Birmingham, Berlin or any other exhibitions we will be attending in the coming months.
