NeuroLog System
Compact and versatile; our modular electrophysiology workstation – the NeuroLog System – is now widely accepted throughout the world by leading scientists, researchers and practitioners alike. As a fully modular device, it’s suitable for a diverse range of roles, including amplification, intracellular and extracellular recording, pulse and train generation, spike detection, electrical stimulation, multi-channel isolated EMG and EEG recording, pressure or other transducer recordings and more. And it can offer many advantages over other non-modular instruments.
For example, Digitimer’s NeuroLog System provides:
- greater flexibility - a complex system can be quickly devised by assembling and modifying various modules
- enhanced efficiency - only the modules that are required for a particular task need to be tied up and occupy rack space. Modules can be shared amongst several set-ups, and can be easily swapped and changed, expanding the capability of the NeuroLog System without causing duplication.
- wider compatibility - all of the input and output levels, impedances, and connectors etc. of the different modules are compatible. As such, pieces of equipment can be interconnected in the NeuroLog System, without causing any problems – even if those pieces are of diverse origin.
- cost-effective - only required modules need to be purchased. You won’t have to pay for unnecessary functions or buy a ‘general purpose’ system. Individual modules can simply be added to the system at any time, as the scope and orientation of your application changes.

What can the NeuroLog System be used for?
Thanks to its modular nature, the NeuroLog System can be used for a diverse range of applications. These applications fall broadly into four categories, including signal amplification, triggering and pulse generation, signal conditioning, filtering and processing, and electrical stimulation. Advice on the best modules to use for each of these categories can be found in our ‘NeuroLog System Application Notes’ guide. Here you’ll find the categories broken down into more specific applications, with information on the modules typically used for each. Yes. Individual modules will need to be purchased separately, along with a NeuroLog Case and Power Supply Unit and possibly interconnection and output cables or cable adaptors too. But this is one of the main advantages of our NeuroLog System. There’s no need to spend more than necessary on a ‘general purpose’ workstation – with functions that you don’t require. You can simply create a system that meets your needs exactly, and add to it as the scope of your work changes.How much does the NeuroLog System cost?
This will depend on several factors, including whether you need the 13-module or 4-module case, the number of modules required, and the type of modules needed for your specific application.
