I am interested in using the D501 to record temperature with some alternative software, how do I implement this?

We have designed the D501 so it is very easily interfaced with third party software. It does not need any drivers or dedicated software and once connected to a host PC by USB cable, it is possible for third-party software to interrogate it with a ? for a temperature reading. This is easily demonstrated with an SSH client, such as SmarTTY.
