April 2012 - This year Digitimer is celebrating its 40th Birthday

Read a little more about the history of the company from 1972 to 2012 here.  Over the last 40 years Digitimer products have found their way to some exciting places, including at least two trips to Mount Everest and many appearances on television, so as part of our 40th birthday celebrations we thought it might be fun to collect some photos of Digitimer products.  You can find out more about how to submit your photos by taking a look at our most recent mailing.

February 2011 - Neurolog System NL844 features of BBC Horizon Surviving a Car Crash

Broadcast in the UK on BBC2 and currently available on the BBC iplayer, this documentary took a look at car crash survivability and the advances in research and medicine which are hoped to make fatal car crashes a thing of the past.  Research conducted by Dr Jean Sebastien Blouin (Uni. British Columbia) was featured, providing an insight into the physiology of whiplash injuries.  As part of the documentary, a pair of Neurolog System NL844 AC Preamplifiers were used by Dr Blouin to make EMG recordings from neck muscles.

 

December 2010 - Forthcoming courses in Nerve Excitability.

Plans are being made to hold another Nerve Excitability workshop for users of QtracW software and either our DS4 or  DS5 constant current stimulators.  The workshop will be held in September 2011 and is being organised by Prof Hugh Bostock and Dr Susan Tomlinson. November 2009 - Publications using Digitimer products now shared on Mendeley

Mendeley provides an "itunes for research papers" interface, allowing researchers to share publications across the internet.  We have now created collections of papers using Mendeley, which allow our customers to quickly see how a Digitimer product has been used in previously published research.

 

May 2009 - 10% Discount on Narishige Equipment from 18/5/09 until 17/7/09

Digitimer is currently offering a 10% discount on purchases of Narishige equipment (excluding some items, such as consumables) until 17/7/09.

 

June 2008 - Flyion PatchBox Demo at University of Sheffield and other Venues

Flyion will be demonstrating their automated patch clamp equipment at the University of Sheffield.  The day (date to be finalised) will include a presentation about their full range of products as well as a "live" demonstration of the PatchBox patch clamp device.  Due to restrictions of the venue, this demonstration will only be open to invited guests - if you are interested in attending or hosting Flyion at your own UK establishment, please contact us.

 

April 2007 - Digitimer Launches the New DS5 Bipolar Constant Current Stimulator

Our new DS5 Computer-controlled clinical stimulator is now available.  The DS5 has been developed in collaboration with Prof Hugh Bostock at the Institute of Neurology in London and helps to speed up and facilitate neurodiagnostic testing of peripheral nerve function.  The DS5 is driven by a voltage waveform input which is translated into a current stimulus which follows the same time course.

 

October 2005 - Digitimer DS7A & DS7AH Stimulators Cleared by the FDA

We are pleased to announce that our DS7A & DS7AH peripheral nerve and muscle stimulators have been cleared for the FDA for marketing in the USA.  This important step allows us to offer these extremely popular stimulators for use on human subjects in the USA.  You can read more about the DS7 range here.

February 2005 - HEKA Software Updates

HEKA are pleased to announce the release of PatchMaster 2.0 offering existing and potential PatchMaster users some major improvements over v1.20.  Users can now make continuous recordings, set separate scaling for DA channels and make use of solution handling when using multi-channel amplifiers.  Heka also now offer FitMaster a new analysis package designed for use with data acquired by Pulse and PatchMaster.  Further details are available in the downloads section of the Heka website.

August 2003 - New Product Announcement

Digitimer have replaced the DG2 trigger generator with the NEW DG2A Train/Delay Generator.  This device is a compact, battery powered unit capable of generating trigger pulse trains in response to external trigger/gating signals or an internal frequency generator.  The device also features a facility to generate delayed pulses, ideal for effective refractory period (ERP) studies.  The DG2A complements our range of stimulators which can all be triggered by this device.  Read more about the DG2A.
